Open field shooting can be organized for a party of four guns with their own (gun) dogs. Retrievers and pointers are unnecessary.

La Rabolière is natural shooting territory; there is a mixture of woodland, hedgerows, field margins and open farmland with adjacent cover. It is wild, hilly and home to very varied wildlife.

The Organization of the day

A day at la Rabolière begins at 9am with breakfast in front of a vast open fire. Your host will give you explanations about the organization of the day and the lay of the land. As the house is in the middle of the territory you will leave on foot.

At 12h30 you (can) return to the house for a delicious lunch accompanied by Burgundy wines.

In the afternoon   shooting   continues until 18h when refreshments are served and the game count takes place. The game is distributed among the participants.

Important details :

  • You will need about 40 cartridges
  • If you are less than 4 we can complete your party
  • The probable game count is 8 to 10 birds or rabbits per gun
  • There are individual kennels for your dogs
  • You are expected to tip your guide

The season usually opens the 3rd Sunday in September and closes on 28 February
