Hunting in front of you with a pointing dog

We offer two types of duck drives, one before the hunting season opens and one after.

The first is carried out before the general opening, at the end of August, during a very intense half-day hunt.

The second is carried out from the general opening, at the end of August, during a very intense half-day hunt.

Hunting season

End of August to closing on February 28.

Hunter during a duck hunt

Hunting day schedule

We meet at 9:30 a.m. for breakfast by the fire. After explaining the morning’s schedule and giving instructions, we set off directly on foot, as the meeting point is in the center of the territory.

Duck drives are made up of 3 stalks. Positions are drawn by lot and shooters are scattered at strategic locations, sometimes far apart. Pond lifts last around 40 intensive minutes, during which the ducks fly by the hundreds at any height and sail from one pond to the next. At the end of each hunt, it’s time to collect the game, and each search in the water or reeds is as much a pleasure as a duty for the hunter and his dog. (If you don’t have a dog, we’ll help you with our retrievers).

Around 1:30 pm, the painting is set up on the terrace, in a geometric design, while you enjoy a glass of Champagne and some canapés. Lunch is served with Burgundy grands crus. At around 3:30 pm, everyone can leave with their catch.

Details of this hunt:

The line you have to form should comprise 10 to 12 guns. Positions are drawn by lot. Individual kennels are available for dogs. The “pièce au garde” remains an essential use. It starts before the general opening, at the end of August, with a half-day of intense hunting, and continues until closing time. More than 100 cartridges required. The expected, but unlimited, range is 15 to 17 pieces per rifle.
